2015: a special Gagliole vintage

A great result in the vineyards and great news for the range

A turning point for Gagliole and time to turn the spotlight on a great vintage like 2015 by redefining the flagship wines.

Gagliole IGT is the winery’s most august label and the 2015 harvest consolidates the territorial identity of the Conca d’Oro di Panzano growing area of this premium variety thanks to the top-of-the-bill role played by Sangiovese in the blend, with just a touch of Cabernet Sauvignon. Close-knit, dense, gentle tannins are the trademark of this wine.

Newcomer Gallùle Chianti Classico carries a label that pays tribute to Gagliole’s ancient place name and showcases the traditional terraces planted to Sangiovese all around the villa in Castellina in Chianti, now the driving force behind the winery’s first Riserva. Gallùle shows the depth and harmony that only venerable vines with more than three decades of life can confer.

After two years of time out, Pecchia IGT is back. A wine produced only in truly memorable harvests, precisely like 2015, this pure Sangiovese is elegance epitomized, with notes of spice, dried fruit and licorice, a well-balanced body and nice persistence.

A revamped look this year for three champions, with a design inspired by the winery’s first labels dating back to the 1990s, which drew the eye to the estate logo. The refined graphics seem to hint at the elegance of these three complex, textured versions of Sangiovese.

As already said, the reason for all this action is the bounty of the 2015 harvest, one of the most stunning seasons of recent years, which allowed the cellars to be filled with grapes of fabulous quality. The perfect weather was exactly what the vine growth cycle needed and ended with a textbook September. When it was time to harvest, the grapes had developed massive sugar and skin polyphenol potential, as well as a high level of fixed acidity crucial for the balance of the wines produced. A truly excellent year.
