Gagliole Rosso IGT 2005 – Wine Advocate

A Proprietary Blend Dry Red Table wine from Tuscany, Italy

Rating: 90 Drink 2009 – 2019 Cost: $60 – $75

The 2005 Gagliole is a soft-textured, fruit-driven wine loaded with character. This blend of 70% Sangiovese and 30% Cabernet Sauvignon flows from the glass with sensual layers of smoke, leather, spices, plums and cherries all supported by a lively vein of minerality that provides freshness. Drink this stylish, engaging red over the next decade. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2019. These are the first wines I have tasted from Gagliole and I was very impressed. Gagliole is owned by Thomas B?r, whose family is most well known for its private bank, Julius B?r. Winemaking is overseen by consulting oenologist Stefano Chioccioli and oenologist Cesare Panti.
